Deck overview

This Grixis midrange and reanimator deck uses Sauron, the Dark Lord to generate massive board presence and overwhelming card flow. Casting Sauron on Turn 4 creates an Orc Army whenever opponents cast spells. Connecting with an Army tempts the Ring, enabling the player to discard their hand and draw four fresh cards each turn. This trigger rapidly fuels the graveyard with powerful reanimation targets and fills the hand with Nazgûl. With nine Nazgûl in the list, each Ring tempt places +1/+1 counters on all Wraith creatures, quickly building lethal deathtouch attackers. Backup engines like Buried Alive, Living Death, and Razaketh, the Foulblooded allow explosive recovery and alternative paths to victory. Supported by free defensive spells like Fierce Guardianship and Deflecting Swat, the deck steadily grinds opponents down before ending the game through decisive combat damage and life drain.
