Deck overview

This mono-black deck leverages Demon tribal synergies, big mana generation, and graveyard reanimation led by Ardyn, the Usurper. Early turns focus on accelerating mana via cost reducers like Jet Medallion and Urza's Incubator, mana doublers such as Crypt Ghast and Cabal Coffers, and consistent card-draw engines like Black Market Connections. Around Turn 5, the deck transitions into deploying high-impact Demons that control the board, such as Archfiend of Depravity and Overseer of the Damned. On Turn 6, it presents lethal board states through Ardyn, the Usurper—granting haste, menace, and lifelink to reanimated 5/5 Demon copies—or by resolving damage multipliers like Archfiend of Despair. Supported by devastating one-sided sweepers like Kindred Dominance and mass reanimation via Living Death and Breach the Multiverse, the deck closes out the game around Turn 8 through overwhelming combat damage and massive black devotion drains from Gray Merchant of Asphodel and Exsanguinate.
