Deck overview

This deck is an aggressive Gruul Dragon Stompy build helmed by Atarka, World Render. Its primary strategy accelerates mana in the opening turns using 1-drop mana elves and 2-drop ramp to deploy massive, evasive Dragon threats ahead of curve. Once a core Dragon presence is established by Turn 4, casting Atarka, World Render on Turn 5 grants every attacking Dragon double strike, instantly transforming mid-sized flyers into lethal haymakers that eliminate opponents within two to three combat steps. The deck incorporates explosive backup paths, including the two-card infinite combat combo of Aggravated Assault and Savage Ventmaw, as well as devastating damage doublers like Thrakkus the Butcher and token swarms from Utvara Hellkite and Lathliss, Dragon Queen. While the deck exerts crushing aerial pressure, it relies heavily on creature permanents and is vulnerable to well-timed board sweepers and instant-speed removal, mitigating this exposure through haste enablers and targeted hexproof protection.
