Deck overview

This Golgari deck uses Ygra, Eater of All as both an engine centerpiece and a lethal Voltron threat. Ygra turns all other creatures into Food artifacts, which supercharges the deck's artifact removal spells and turns every creature death into permanent +1/+1 counters. The early game focuses on deploying 2-CMC and 3-CMC ramp to cast Ygra by Turn 4. Once Ygra is on the battlefield, token producers like Camellia, the Seedmiser and Deep Forest Hermit feed sacrifice outlets such as Deadly Dispute and Torgaar, Famine Incarnate, rapidly growing Ygra into a lethal combat threat. While the deck possesses a strong removal suite that expands under Ygra's typing ability, it lacks stack interaction and broad protection against mass board wipes, meaning it must close out opponents through sequential combat steps by Turn 8.
