Deck overview

This deck is a casual Mardu midrange build led by Queen Marchesa that seeks to control the Monarch, generate incremental token advantage, and close the game through attrition and wide combat damage. It incorporates a wide variety of casual cards, including silver-border/promotional cards, Cat and Goblin synergies, and soft tax pieces like Smothering Tithe and Windborn Muse. The deck's primary operational strength is steady card flow through the Monarch mechanic, which fuels a steady stream of midrange threats like Court of Grace and Sauron, the Lidless Eye. However, the deck faces substantial mana friction due to an unusually low land count of 28 lands combined with minimal low-cost acceleration. Because it lacks fast combo finishes or hard lockouts, it relies on multi-turn combat pressure to grind down opposing life totals.
