Commander: Meren of Clan Nel Toth

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Meren of Clan Nel Toth commands a Golgari aristocrats and reanimation deck focused on grinding card advantage, controlling opposing boards, and draining life totals. Early turns establish mana acceleration and graveyard setup through self-mill creatures and specific tutors like Buried Alive. Meren rapidly accumulates experience counters by sacrificing creatures like Sakura-Tribe Elder and Plaguecrafter. In the mid-to-late game, repeatable end-step recursion loops devastating enter-the-battlefield and death triggers. The deck closes games through repeated drains with Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Zulaport Cutthroat, and Blood Artist, massive board wipes via Massacre Wurm, Mazirek counters, or resolving Rise of the Dark Realms.
