Ozai, The Pheonix King by SpazL

Format: Commander

Commander: Ozai, the Phoenix King

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a Rakdos "firebending" deck helmed by Ozai, the Phoenix King, built around a single explosive loop: attack with firebending creatures to generate red mana, chain extra combat steps, and convert the floating mana into overwhelming X-spell finishers or repeated combat damage. Ozai is the engine's centerpiece - a 7/7 haste beater whose firebending 4 produces four red mana on every attack, and who becomes flying and indestructible with six or more unspent mana. The deck packs eight extra-combat effects (Aggravated Assault, Hellkite Charger, Combat Celebrant, Karlach, Fury of Avernus, Moraug, Fury of Akoum, Fear of Missing Out, Full Throttle, Great Train Heist) and over a dozen firebending mana sources, so once the chain starts it rarely stops. Primary wins are Comet Storm, Crackle with Power, and Torment of Hailfire for huge X damage, or simply running opponents over with an indestructible, flying, trampling Ozai across multiple combats.
