Deck overview

This deck is an Esper mill and life-drain control strategy commanded by Y'shtola, Night's Blessed. It accelerates early with efficient artifact mana to cast Y'shtola on turn 3, then utilizes noncreature spells with mana value 3 or greater to drain opponents for 2 life and draw cards at each end step. The deck controls the game pace using premium spot removal, cheap countermagic, and asymmetric rule-setting effects like Teferi, Time Raveler and Notion Thief. Victory is secured through high-synergy mill and life-loss loops. The primary win condition combines Bloodchief Ascension and Mindcrank (or The Master of Lake-town) into an infinite drain-and-mill loop that eliminates all opponents simultaneously. Secondary win lines leverage Bruvac the Grandiloquent paired with Maddening Cacophony to mill entire libraries in a single turn, or Syr Konrad, the Grim and Sheoldred, the Apocalypse to convert mass mill and wheels into lethal table damage.
