Deck overview

This Gruul deck is built around Bello, Bard of the Brambles, which turns non-Equipment artifacts and non-Aura enchantments with mana value 4 or greater into 4/4 Elemental creatures with indestructible, haste, and combat-damage card draw during your turn. Supported by a dense suite of 2-CMC ramp spells, the deck reliably deploys Bello on Turn 3 and begins attacking with resilient 4-drops on Turn 4. Because these permanents cease to be creatures during opponents' turns, they naturally dodge sorcery-speed creature board wipes such as Blasphemous Act and Wrath of God. The deck accelerates its damage output using force multipliers like Gratuitous Violence, Berserkers' Onslaught, and Unnatural Growth, alongside extra combat spells like Great Train Heist and Full Throttle. A steady stream of combat card draw replenishes hand size, allowing the deck to close out the game through overwhelming combat damage by Turn 7.
