Deck overview

This deck is a Golgari Elf tribal swarm strategy commanded by Lathril, Blade of the Elves. The primary game plan revolves around deploying low-cost mana dorks on the opening turns to cast Lathril ahead of curve. Once on the battlefield, Lathril uses menace and combat buffs to connect with opponents, generating green Elf Warrior creature tokens equal to the combat damage dealt. The deck quickly builds a wide board presence, transitioning from combat chip damage into a decisive clock using Lathril's activated ability, which taps ten Elves to drain 10 life from each opponent and gain 10 life. Finishers such as Coat of Arms, Tyvar, the Pummeler, and Finale of Devastation provide massive power buffs to close out games through overwhelming combat damage. While the deck boasts fast mana acceleration and strong single-target commander protection, its reliance on a large creature swarm leaves it vulnerable to mass board wipes and card exhaustion.
