Deck overview

This mono-red aggressive deck converts rapid Treasure generation into direct-damage burn and decisive combat finishes. Led by Smaug the Magnificent, the strategy establishes early artifact momentum through cheap equipment and combat triggers like Sticky Fingers and Professional Face-Breaker. Once Smaug enters, its native haste and flying immediately weaponize the accumulated Treasure hoard into pinpoint direct damage on attack. The deck scales this burst pressure using damage multipliers such as Torbran, Thane of Red Fell and City on Fire, alongside game-ending artifact payoffs like Hellkite Tyrant and Draconic Visitor. While the deck possesses explosive single-target burst potential and solid recovery through redundant token generators, it remains vulnerable to mass artifact sweepers and lacks stack-based countermagic or enchantment answers. Competent pilots must carefully balance spending Treasures for mana acceleration against hoarding them to maximize Smaug's lethal attack triggers and artifact-count win conditions.
