Deck overview

This deck is a Mardu aggressive midrange strategy spearheaded by Fire Lord Zuko. The game plan revolves around casting spells from exile and putting permanents onto the battlefield from exile to trigger Zuko's ability, which distributes +1/+1 counters to your entire creature suite. In combat, Zuko generates temporary red mana through Firebending, which funds mid-combat impulse spells and equipment attachments. The 99 blends impulse draw engines with an equipment subtheme featuring efficient equipment like Blackblade Reforged and support cards like Bruenor Battlehammer and Cloud, Planet's Champion. While it generates solid card flow and packs flexible single-target removal, the deck is split between two divergent themes and lacks proactive stax pieces, leaving it vulnerable to opposing combo strategies and board sweepers.
