Deck overview

This Abzan aristocrats and reanimator deck uses Betor, Ancestor's Voice to convert life total manipulation into overwhelming battlefield presence. By blending self-inflicted life loss from painlands, Sylvan Library, and Toxic Deluge with lifegain triggers from Soul Sisters and lifelink beaters, the deck consistently triggers Betor's end-step ability to resurrect high-impact creatures like Archon of Cruelty and Protean Hulk. The primary game plan accelerates through dense 1- and 2-drop ramp to deploy value engines by Turn 4, before threatening a decisive Turn 5 victory. Winning lines revolve around compact infinite combos, prominently sacrificing Protean Hulk to assemble Warren Soultrader, Gravecrawler, and Blood Artist for an immediate 120-damage table kill, or resolving Exquisite Blood alongside Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose. Supported by flexible instant-speed removal like Assassin's Trophy and Anguished Unmaking, the deck maintains excellent engine resilience and full strategic independence from its commander.
