Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet spellslinger burn strategy commanded by Iron Lad, Young Avenger. The primary objective is to accelerate your mana curve using cheap artifacts and Iron Lad's passive noncreature cost reduction, enabling you to cast multiple spells per turn with minimal mana. You assemble an engine of pingers such as Firebrand Archer, Coruscation Mage, and Kessig Flamebreather, then amplify their noncombat damage output using cards like Mechanized Warfare, Artist's Talent, and Spiked Corridor // Torture Pit. Rather than relying on infinite combos, the deck uses symmetrical wheel effects like Windfall, Echo of Eons, and Reforge the Soul to repeatedly refill your hand, chaining cheap interaction and cantrips to deal lethal burn across the entire table. A dense counterspell suite protects your vulnerable creatures while keeping opposing game plans in check.
