Foreseeing a painful future by Zebrecharged

Format: Commander

Commander: Hidetsugu, Devouring Chaos

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This Rakdos deck is built around Hidetsugu, Devouring Chaos as a repeatable source of exile-and-ping damage. The primary game plan is to ramp into Hidetsugu, use his activated ability to exile high-mana-value spells from the top of the library, and amplify that damage with Angrath's Marauders and City on Fire to burn opponents out. A dense "cast from exile" subtheme-featuring Prosper, Tome-Bound, Nalfeshnee, Wild-Magic Sorcerer, Charred Foyer // Warped Space, and Planetarium of Wan Shi Tong-provides additional value, treasure generation, and trigger stacking. Passionate Archaeologist and Keeper of Secrets turn each exiled-and-cast spell into a second damage source. The deck wins by repeatedly activating Hidetsugu, leveraging damage multipliers to convert even a few big pings into lethal reach across the table.
