Deck overview

This deck is a Mono-Black Reanimator and Aristocrats engine centered on graveyard recursion and heavy asymmetric attrition. In the early game, it utilizes efficient mana rocks and direct-to-graveyard tutors such as Entomb and Buried Alive to set up massive threats ahead of curve. By Turn 4, it leverages efficient reanimation spells like Reanimate, Animate Dead, and Victimize to deploy game-warping creatures like Archon of Cruelty, Gray Merchant of Asphodel, or Kokusho, the Evening Star. Once established, sacrifice outlets convert these creatures into continuous card advantage, mana, and life drain while Grave Pact and Massacre Wurm suppress opposing battlefields. While Avacyn, Angel of Horror serves as an 8-mana top-end recursion multiplier returning dead creatures on every end step, the deck functions seamlessly without its commander, winning through repeated devotion life drains and evasive combat damage.
