Deck overview

This deck is a synergistic Abzan combo and aristocrats list helmed by Ghave, Guru of Spores. The strategy revolves around the dynamic interplay between +1/+1 counters and creature tokens. Ghave acts as a modular mana sink that converts counters into 1/1 Saprolings and sacrifices creatures to place counters on any target. By combining Ghave with mana-producing sacrifice outlets like Ashnod's Altar and counter or token multipliers such as Doubling Season, Cathars' Crusade, or Branching Evolution, the deck generates infinite creature tokens, infinite mana, and infinite death triggers. Opponents are drained simultaneously using aristocrat payoffs like Zulaport Cutthroat, Elas il-Kor, Sadistic Pilgrim, and Mirkwood Bats. The deck also features an independent two-card combo with Scurry Oak and Cathars' Crusade. Backed by premium white/black spot removal, board wipes like Culling Ritual, and instant-speed protection like Heroic Intervention and Veil of Summer, the deck presents a resilient, multi-angled threat.
