Deck overview

This Esper deck leverages Marneus Calgar as both an explosive card advantage engine and a reliable infinite mana outlet in the command zone. The primary strategy develops early mana rocks and passive token generators like Lotho, Corrupt Shirriff, Ophiomancer, and Black Market Connections. On Turn 4, Marneus Calgar enters the battlefield, turning every token creation event into fresh card draws across all four player turns. With a stocked hand and dense protective countermagic, the deck transitions on Turn 5 into an infinite mana combo using Isochron Scepter with Dramatic Reversal, Basalt Monolith with Forensic Gadgeteer, or Ashnod's Altar lines. Infinite mana fuels Marneus Calgar's activated ability to create infinite tokens and draw the entire library, culminating in an unanswerable Thassa's Oracle win. Backed by premier interaction like Fierce Guardianship, Dovin's Veto, and Void Rend, the deck balances proactive combo speed with resilient control.
