Deck overview

This Gruul Dragon deck pairs Ganax, Astral Hunter with Acolyte of Bahamut to create a fast, resilient big-mana engine. Acolyte of Bahamut reduces the cost of the first Dragon cast each turn by two mana, allowing an early Turn 3 Ganax deployment that immediately begins refunding mana via Treasure tokens. The deck translates this acceleration into massive flying threats, leveraging passive card draw engines like Elemental Bond and Garruk's Uprising to maintain continuous gas. Combat damage escalates exponentially through damage doublers like Atarka, World Render and token swarm from Utvara Hellkite. Direct damage enablers such as Dragon Tempest, Terror of the Peaks, and Scourge of Valkas turn every Dragon entry into removal or lethal reach. In addition to overwhelming aerial combat, the deck features a compact infinite combat finish using Savage Ventmaw and Aggravated Assault. High redundancy and robust recovery ensure consistent mid-game pressure against diverse pods.
