Meren (Big Creature) by zikfu

Format: Commander

Commander: Meren of Clan Nel Toth

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Golgari reanimator/aristocrats deck helmed by Meren of Clan Nel Toth, built around filling the graveyard through self-mill, sacrificing creatures for value, and recurring them with Meren's end-step trigger. The primary win condition is the compact Protean Hulk line: reanimate Hulk, sacrifice it, and fetch Mikaeus, the Unhallowed plus Walking Ballista for infinite damage, with Ashnod's Altar or any sac outlet enabling the ping loop. Secondary paths include the same Mikaeus + Ballista combo assembled directly, and a beatdown plan featuring Yargle and Multani, Tyrranax Rex, and Jumbo Cactuar. The deck generates heavy card advantage through Skullclamp, Grim Haruspex, and Morbid Opportunist, while Spore Frog and Toxic Deluge provide protection. It plays as a resilient midrange engine that grinds value while threatening a compact combo finish.
