Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet artifact cheat and Voltron midrange strategy commanded by Tony Stark // The Invincible Iron Man. The primary game plan casts Tony Stark on Turn 2, uses his activated ability to dig four cards deep for premier artifact threats, and accelerates mana using low-cost mana rocks and cost reducers. On Turn 5, the deck invests six mana ({4}{U}{R}) to transform Tony into The Invincible Iron Man. At the beginning of combat on the same turn, Iron Man cheats high-impact artifacts or Equipment directly onto the battlefield, automatically equipping game-ending pieces like Excalibur, Sword of Eden, Kaldra Compleat, Genji Glove, or Blightsteel Colossus. Backed by a dense suite of efficient countermagic and protection pieces like Commander's Plate and Padeem, Consul of Innovation, the deck systematically eliminates opponents over three combat cycles by Turn 8. An alternate infinite combat combo with Aggravated Assault and Sword of Feast and Famine provides additional closing power.
