Commander: Smaug the Impenetrable

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Rakdos Treasure-combo deck built around Smaug the Impenetrable, an indestructible, hasty 8/7 Dragon that converts noncombat damage into Treasures. The core plan is to cast Smaug, then point damage engines like Pyrohemia, Blazing Sunsteel, or Pariah's Shield at him to generate a burst of Treasures. Those Treasures are then converted into a win through Goldspan Dragon mana doubling, Magda, Brazen Outlaw tutoring, Exsanguinate, or Revel in Riches. The deck also has a secondary Dragon-beatdown plan with Drakuseth, Maw of Flames, Smaug the Magnificent, and Hellkite Charger extra combats, plus a Dark Depths surprise. It is a midrange combo deck that can win explosively once the damage loop is online.
