Deck overview

Ares, God of War spearheads an aggressive Rakdos combat-aristocrats deck centered on repeatedly deploying and sacrificing self-destructive beaters. By returning any attacking creature that dies back to your hand, Ares turns disposable threats like Ball Lightning, Lightning Skelemental, and Rot-Curse Rakshasa into recurring sources of immense pressure. Sacrifice outlets like Goblin Bombardment and Warren Soultrader allow you to sacrifice attackers during combat before combat ends, continually refilling your grip. As creatures cycle and die, death-trigger drains from Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, and Mayhem Devil rapidly deplete all three opponents' life totals, closing the game out through lethal trample damage and inevitable burn.
