Gaining and Losing Life and Counters by Noah0603

Format: Commander

Commander: Willowdusk, Essence Seer

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Willowdusk, Essence Seer leads a Golgari "life as a resource" deck that converts every point of life gained or lost into +1/+1 counters. The deck floods the board with Pest tokens, turns them into life and cards through sacrifice outlets, and then finishes through Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, extort triggers, and enormous lifelink attackers. There is no true infinite combo; instead, the engine snowballs: each lifelink swing feeds the next Willowdusk pump, Excalibur II grows in parallel, and Vito makes every gain a table-wide drain. Secondary paths include token swarms from Mycoloth and Ribtruss Roaster, mass token bursts from Tend the Pests, and planeswalker finishers such as Professor Dellian Fel's emblem or a life-set using Sorin Markov and Torgaar, Famine Incarnate. This is a slow, grindy midrange deck that wins by out-sustaining the table.
