[Primer] The Best Offense is a Good Defense - Arcades EDH by 3lemelon5

Format: Commander

Commander: Arcades, the Strategist

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Bant defender tribal deck helmed by Arcades, the Strategist. The core plan floods the board with cheap Walls and defender creatures, using Arcades to convert every ETB into a card and to let those high-toughness bodies attack for damage equal to toughness. Redundant enablers (High Alert, Assault Formation, Walking Bulwark) keep the attack plan online even if Arcades is answered. Ramp is dense (dorks, dual-land tutors, Axebane Guardian/Overgrown Battlement), so the board snowballs quickly into unblockable swings via Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive and Sidar Kondo of Jamuraa. A secondary infinite-mana line (Axebane Guardian + Freed from the Real) turns Assault Formation into an infinite-toughness finisher. The deck wins through combat inevitability backed by steady card flow and selective interaction rather than pure combo speed.
