Deck overview

This deck is an explosive Spellslinger Storm strategy built around Codie, Ravenous Codex and the Prepare mechanic. The deck uses creature-spell split cards that enter prepared, allowing you to cast copies of iconic spells like Ancestral Recall, Demonic Tutor, and Seething Song. When cast, Codie automatically copies these spells, generating tremendous card advantage, mana velocity, and board presence. Magecraft engines like Storm-Kiln Artist, Archmage Emeritus, and Veyran, Voice of Duality capitalize on both casts and copies, producing massive pools of Treasure tokens and drawing deep into the library. The primary win condition relies on chaining prepared spells in a single explosive turn to burn down all three opponents simultaneously with Professor Onyx, Guttersnipe, or Fiery Inscription. While vulnerable to well-timed creature removal and board wipes, the deck's high redundancy and rapid card flow allow it to assemble lethal storm turns reliably by turn five.
