Deck overview

This Golgari deck leverages Zask, Skittering Swarmlord to turn the graveyard into an active second hand, combining Insect tribal synergies with aristocrat drain and token scaling. Early turns focus on establishing mana acceleration and filling the graveyard using self-mill and creature tutors like Buried Alive and Entomb. Once Zask enters the battlefield, playing lands from the graveyard and recasting sacrificed Insects provides relentless card advantage while triggering death-mill abilities. The deck converts wide boards of 1/1 Insect tokens created by Scute Swarm, Hornet Queen, and Izoni, Thousand-Eyed into game-ending threats using Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest, Aatchik, Emerald Radian, or Syr Konrad, the Grim. It can also assemble a three-piece loop with Nim Deathmantle and Ashnod's Altar. While vulnerable to mass graveyard exile and flying sweepers, the deck exhibits high resilience through redundant token generators, reanimation spells, and independent backup engines like Six.
