Deck overview

This is a Rakdos group-slug attrition deck helmed by Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls. The plan floods the board with life-loss engines that punish draws, lands, spells, and upkeeps, then amplifies that damage with doublers and finishers while Valgavoth converts every first life-loss on an opponent's turn into +1/+1 counters and cards. Primary wins come from incremental noncombat damage stacking into lethal table-wide pressure, supported by devotion drains (Gray Merchant of Asphodel), one-shot spreaders (Chandra's Ignition), and quest payoffs (Bloodchief Ascension). The commander is a resilient flying threat and the deck's main card-advantage engine rather than a hard combo piece; the 99 still functions as pure slug without him, but loses its best refill. No infinite combos are present-the deck wins by bleeding the table dry.
