Deck overview

This Gruul deck focuses on explosive mana generation and massive aerial combat led by Klauth, Unrivaled Ancient. The strategy accelerates during the first three turns with dense 1-2 CMC mana dorks, land ramps, and cost reducers to cast Klauth on Turn 4. Because Klauth possesses haste and flying, it attacks immediately, converting the total power of attacking creatures into mana to flood the battlefield with legendary Dragons such as Atarka, World Render, Utvara Hellkite, and Terror of the Peaks. When paired with Hellkite Charger, Klauth forms a lethal infinite combat combo that eliminates all opponents in a single turn. The deck supports this aggressive game plan with efficient protection spells like Heroic Intervention and Defense Grid, alongside power-based card advantage engines such as Rishkar's Expertise and Garruk's Uprising. Even without Klauth, redundant powerhouses like Old Gnawbone and Savage Ventmaw ensure the deck consistently delivers overwhelming pressure.
