Appa Airbending by user7122545

Format: Commander

Commander: Appa, Steadfast Guardian

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Appa, Steadfast Guardian is an airbend engine: he exiles your own nonland permanents, lets you recast them for {2}, and rewards each cast-from-exile with an Ally token. The primary plan is to loop cheap permanents through exile, rapidly building an Ally army while reusing ETBs like Wall of Omens and Aang, the Last Airbender. Secondary paths include token doubling via Mondrak, Ojer Taq, and Exalted Sunborn, treasure generation from Smothering Tithe and Gleaming Splendor, and a combat finisher with Sokka's Charge or Akroma's Will. Aang, Airbending Master acts as a hidden commander, converting every exile without death into experience counters and an upkeep Ally surge. The commander's role is to supply the critical cast-from-exile trigger that turns airbend effects into board presence.
