Commander: Gaddock Teeg

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This deck pilots a ruthless Selesnya Stax/Tax strategy under Gaddock Teeg, whose ability to shut down high-mana-value and X-cost noncreature spells forms the basis of a layered prison. The primary game plan is to deploy an early suite of tax effects (Thalia, Guardian of Thraben, Sphere of Resistance, Trinisphere) alongside hatebears like Collector Ouphe and Stony Silence, locking opponents out of meaningful plays while the pilot assembles a compact combo finish. The main win condition is the Heliod, Sun-Crowned + Walking Ballista infinite-damage loop, which requires only a single white mana to give Ballista lifelink. A secondary land-wipe finisher comes from Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite + Living Plane, turning all lands into 1/1 creatures while Elsh Norn gives opponents' creatures -2/-2, killing all their lands. Combat backup comes from indestructible card-draw engines like Toski, Bearer of Secrets and a dense protection package (Silence, Grand Abolisher, Teferi's Protection) to safeguard the combo turn. The deck is built to grind the table to a halt and then close the game through a single, well-protected combo.
