Format: Commander

Commander: Chatterfang, Squirrel General

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Chatterfang, Squirrel General is the engine and finisher of a Golgari token-combo build. The deck creates Squirrels from enchantments, sorceries, artifacts, and creatures, and Chatterfang doubles every token event. The primary plan is to flood the board with Squirrels, use Skullclamp and sacrifice outlets for cards, then close with drain triggers or a lethal attack. Secondary lines convert the board into mana via Hazel of the Rootbloom, Bootleggers' Stash and Ruthless Knave, enabling an infinite Squirrel/Treasure loop. The commander also acts as repeatable removal, using excess Squirrels as -X/-X ammunition. Hazel of the Rootbloom is the strongest non-commander engine, but there is no hidden commander.
