Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet Spellslinger strategy centered on Ghyrson Starn, Kelermorph, whose Three Autostubs ability amplifies every instance of exactly 1 damage into 3 damage. The deck curves low-cost pingers such as Firebrand Archer, Kessig Flamebreather, and Thermo-Alchemist into Ghyrson, turning cheap cantrips, 0-mana baubles, and 1-mana sweepers into devastating table-wide burn and one-sided creature wipes. Spells like End the Festivities and Blazing Volley clear opposing boards of x/3 creatures for a single red mana while burning all opponents. For late-game closing power, the list incorporates Curiosity and Ophidian Eye, which form an immediate game-ending loop with Niv-Mizzet, Parun or Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind. Supported by efficient Izzet countermagic, redirection spells, and attack deterrents like Caltrops, the deck reliably establishes a dominant clock on Turn 5 and closes games by Turn 7.
