Deck overview

Wolverine, Best There Is is a Gruul counter-combat deck built around the commander's damage-doubling ability. The primary plan is to land Wolverine on turn three, grow him through counters and equipment, then multiply his power with Xenagos, Zopandrel, or Unnatural Growth and close with commander damage. Secondary paths include the Aggravated Assault plus Bear Umbra or The Reaver Cleaver loop, the All Will Be One plus The Red Terror ping loop, and Kediss, Emberclaw Familiar spreading lethal command damage to all opponents. Wolverine is the engine; almost every line resolves through his replacement effect, so protecting him is central.
