Deck overview

This mono-blue artifact deck uses Lady Octopus, Inspired Inventor to bypass the heavy mana costs of devastating colorless and blue artifacts. By casting Lady Octopus on Turn 1 and triggering her draw ability with low-cost cantrips like Ponder, Preordain, and Cerulean Wisps, the deck rapidly accumulates ingenuity counters. By Turn 4 or 5, Lady Octopus cheats out massive threats such as Blightsteel Colossus, Portal to Phyrexia, Krang, Utrom Warlord, and Cybermen Squadron. A suite of high-efficiency countermagic, including Fierce Guardianship, Mana Drain, and Pact of Negation, protects these plays from opposing interaction. Backup cheat engines like Master Transmuter and mana multipliers like Metalworker and Karn, Legacy Reforged ensure the deck can deploy its heavy hitters even if the commander is removed. The deck secures victory through overwhelming combat damage, infect, and board-clearing artifact triggers.
