Smaug, Glittering Dragons by user9546962

Format: Commander

Commander: Smaug the Impenetrable

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Rakdos deck is built around Smaug the Impenetrable, a 7-drop with haste and indestructible that creates Treasure tokens whenever it is dealt noncombat damage. The primary plan is to accelerate Smaug out early using rituals and Treasure generators, then repeatedly ping it with symmetrical damage effects (Pyrohemia, Pestilence, Last Laugh) to amass a huge Treasure hoard. Those Treasures fuel explosive finishers: Crackle with Power for a one-shot kill, Revel in Riches or Hellkite Tyrant for alternate wins, and Alchemist's Talent level 3 for direct damage. A dragon subtheme with Magda, Brazen Outlaw and Rivaz of the Claw provides additional tutoring and recursion. The deck can also win through commander damage or pinging with Mayhem Devil and Mirkwood Bats.
