Deck overview

This deck is a classic Mardu political control deck led by Queen Marchesa. Its core strategy revolves around introducing the monarch early, establishing pillowfort defenses like Ghostly Prison and deathtouch blockers to keep the crown, and using goad cards like Disrupt Decorum and Kardur, Doomscourge to force opponents to attack one another. Win conditions are incremental and attrition-based, utilizing high-impact Courts like Court of Ambition and damage multipliers such as Gisela, Blade of Goldnight or Heartless Hidetsugu alongside aikido combat punishment like Deflecting Palm. While the deck excels at surviving creature-based aggression and grinding out long multiplayer games, its lack of stack-based countermagic and its multi-turn attrition clock leave it vulnerable to fast combo decks and mass exile sweepers.
