Deck overview

This mono-black reanimator deck leverages Songbird, Sonic Screamer as a guaranteed, mana-free discard outlet in the command zone. By bypassing the traditional need to draw dedicated discard enablers, the deck reliably pitches massive game-ending threats like Archon of Cruelty, Razaketh, the Foulblooded, Vilis, Broker of Blood, and Valgavoth, Terror Eater to the graveyard on Turn 2. On Turn 3, cheap reanimation spells such as Reanimate, Animate Dead, and Exhume return these monsters to establish an immediate, must-answer board state. The deck compounds this early momentum through crushing asymmetric sacrifice effects, massive card draw, and one-sided board wipes like Archfiend of Ifnir. As the game progresses, big-mana engines centered on Cabal Coffers, Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth, and Crypt Ghast fuel lethal finishers including Torment of Hailfire, Breach the Multiverse, and Living Death, closing out the table through overwhelming board presence and life loss.
