Deck overview

This deck is an Esper Lifegain Control build helmed by Oloro, Ageless Ascetic. Oloro provides steady lifegain directly from the command zone, allowing the pilot to accumulate an expendable life buffer without casting their commander. The early game focuses on deploying low-cost mana rocks, defensive creatures, and incremental lifegain engines like Soul Warden and Karlov of the Ghost Council. In the mid game, the deck draws cards through Well of Lost Dreams, Cosmos Elixir, and Phyrexian Arena while controlling the board with efficient removal spells such as Anguished Unmaking, Void Rend, and Farewell. The late game converts high life totals into decisive victories using alt-win permanents like Felidar Sovereign, lethal bursts from Aetherflux Reservoir, recurring 5/5 tokens from Crested Sunmare, or asymmetric drain through Sanguine Bond and Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose. The deck delivers consistent resilience and steady card flow across typical multiplayer games.
