Cecil by jcv98

Format: Commander

Commander: Cecil, Dark Knight // Cecil, Redeemed Paladin

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This Orzhov deck is a Knight/Equipment combat deck built around Cecil's transformation. The front face is a cheap deathtouch attacker that deliberately loses life to flip into the back face, Cecil, Redeemed Paladin, whose Protect ability makes every other attacker indestructible. The deck backs that plan with token producers, Equipment, and a life-total manipulation package: Repay in Kind, Mister Negative, Profane Transfusion, Unstoppable Slasher, and Soul of Eternity. There is no true hidden commander; Tymna the Weaver and Mister Negative are powerful support pieces. The deck wins by either repeated Cecil commander damage or setting all life totals low and sweeping in with an indestructible board, with grind and recursion as the secondary plan.
