"Mardu" villains by user1091749

Format: Commander

Commander: Thanos, the Mad Titan

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a Mardu Villain tribal deck with a subtheme of 5-color payoffs, helmed by Thanos, the Mad Titan. The primary strategy is to cast Thanos, activate his power-up ability on the following turn to destroy all other creatures (choosing odd or even mana value), then beat down with Thanos and a growing Villain army. The deck also leverages Villain-tribal synergies like cost reduction, token generation, drain effects, and recursion, while splashing for high-impact 5-color spells (Maelstrom Nexus, Ramos, Dragon Engine, Invasion of Alara) to generate value and tempo swings. The win condition is primarily combat damage, supplemented by Gray Merchant of Asphodel and Together as One for burst reach.
