Born Better by AtrumUnum

Format: Commander

Commander: Baron Helmut Zemo

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Baron Helmut Zemo leads a mono-black midrange deck that turns the graveyard into a free-spell arsenal. The main plan is to cast black spells from hand so Zemo connives, stuffing black cards with many black pips into the graveyard, then attack and use his Boast to exile the stocked cards and cast up to three copied spells without paying mana. The secondary plan is black-mana expansion through Cabal Coffers, Crypt Ghast, Bubbling Muck, and K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth, powering huge drain/reanimation plays. Gray Merchant, Syr Konrad, Ayara, and the Meathook Massacre effects drain all opponents, while sweepers and recursion stabilize the board. No hidden commander; K'rrik effectively plays as a strong lieutenant.
