Deck overview

This deck is a high-tempo Boros Voltron strategy built around Lightning, Army of One. Lightning pairs first strike and lifelink with her Stagger ability, which doubles all subsequent damage dealt to damaged opponents until your next turn. The deck accelerates into play with low-cost ramp and equipment tutors, deploying powerful weapons like Colossus Hammer, Excalibur, Sword of Eden, and Buster Sword. Cost-reduction pieces such as Sigarda's Aid, Forge Anew, and Puresteel Paladin bypass equip costs, allowing Lightning to strike immediately upon entering. Double strike sources like Duelist's Heritage and Blade Historian synergize with Stagger to create lethal commander damage in a single combat step. An extensive suite of one-mana protection spells and silence effects safeguards the board against removal and sweepers. Backup win conditions include alternate Voltron carriers like Cloud, Planet's Champion and an infinite combat loop using Aggravated Assault and Sword of Feast and Famine.
