Deck overview

This mono-black aristocrats and reanimator deck uses Shadowheart, Dark Justiciar and Agent of the Iron Throne to convert recursive creatures into massive card advantage and steady life drain. Early turns establish mana acceleration and disposable fodder using cards like Bitterblossom, Jadar, Ghoulcaller of Nephalia, and Bloodghast. Once Shadowheart or an engine like Yawgmoth, Thran Physician is active, the deck rapidly cycles through its library to find tutors and reanimation pieces. The primary win condition is an infinite life-drain loop pairing Bloodthirsty Conqueror with Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, which deals lethal damage to the entire table in a single turn. Backup lines leverage Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Living Death, Archon of Cruelty, and Torment of Hailfire. While vulnerable to instant-speed creature removal and graveyard hate, the deck boasts exceptional card velocity, resilient engine recovery, and punishing board attrition via Grave Pact.
