Format: Commander

Commander: Matoya, Archon Elder

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This mono-blue Matoya deck turns every scry and surveil into card draw and then into mill. Matoya, Archon Elder draws a card whenever you scry or surveil, and payoffs like Psychic Corrosion, Jace's Erasure, Mystic Redaction, Drowned Secrets and The Water Crystal convert those draws, discards and blue spells into milling each opponent. You control the table with a dense counterspell and bounce suite while you set up. Two slow infinite lines exist: Curator of Mysteries + Matoya + Mind Over Matter for infinite scry, draw and mana into any mill payoff, and Hullbreaker Horror + Sol Ring for infinite mana and bounce. Hullbreaker Horror acts as the hidden commander that locks the board once infinite mana is available.
