Deck overview

This is an Abzan toughness-matters and -1/-1 counter ("blight") value deck helmed by Doran, Besieged by Time. The commander discounts creature spells whose toughness exceeds their power and pumps attackers by the power/toughness differential. The deck floods the board with cheap, high-toughness creatures, uses the blight mechanic to pay for card draw, discard, and removal, and recurs creatures from the graveyard via mill and surveil. Win conditions are combat damage from pumped, token-swarmed boards and the Vivid life-drain of Shimmercreep. It is a slow, grindy midrange deck with no fast mana, no real tutors, and no infinite combos - it wins by out-valuing opponents over a long game rather than by assembling a compact line.
