Deck overview

This deck is a focused Mardu cheat-into-play aggro strategy helmed by Kaalia of the Vast. Its primary plan accelerates Kaalia onto the battlefield by Turn 3 using efficient two-mana artifacts like Arcane Signet and Talisman of Hierarchy. On Turn 4, Kaalia attacks to cheat overwhelming Angel, Demon, and Dragon permanents directly onto the battlefield tapped and attacking, bypassing their steep casting costs. Key payloads include Master of Cruelties for an immediate one-shot player knockout, Avacyn, Angel of Hope for board-wide indestructible protection, Gisela, Blade of Goldnight to double damage output, and Utvara Hellkite to amass an evasive dragon army. The deck complements its aggressive clock with asymmetric disruption, notably casting Armageddon alongside Avacyn, Angel of Hope to strip opposing mana bases entirely. While lethal once operational, the strategy relies heavily on Kaalia surviving to declare an attack, requiring careful deployment of haste and protection equipment.
