Deck overview

This Grixis deck is commanded by The Rani and executes a Bad Gifts and forced combat control strategy. The primary game plan revolves around playing detrimental permanents—including Immortal Coil, Archfiend of the Dross, Demonic Pact, Greed's Gambit, and Plague Reaver—and donating them to opponents using cards like Donate, Harmless Offering, Fateful Handoff, Wrong Turn, or creature engines like Jon Irenicus, Shattered One and Blim, Comedic Genius. Simultaneously, The Rani and various goad auras force opposing creatures into mutual combat, generating Clue tokens for steady card advantage while keeping damage away from your life total. Defensive artifacts like Propaganda and Crawlspace provide pillowfort protection during multiplayer combat. The deck reaches critical onset around Turn 6 and eliminates opponents over three response cycles to finish around Turn 9. While functionally redundant across its gift and donation packages, it relies on natural draws and lacks countermagic protection.
