Mortarion by Castievanialord

Format: Commander

Commander: Mortarion, Daemon Primarch

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Mortarion, Daemon Primarch is the deck's mana sink and token generator, but the real work is done by a mono-black plague/drain shell. You win by stacking life-drain and extort triggers, from Creeping Bloodsucker, Marauding Blight-Priest, Great Unclean One, and Pontiff of Blight, while using -1/-1 effects and mass wipes to keep boards clear. Mortarion turns life lost in a turn, whether from Tallyman of Nurgle, Dakmor Plague, or Reanimate, into 2/2 menace tokens. There is no hidden commander; Great Unclean One is the secondary engine. The deck has no fast combo, so most games come down to grinding every opponent's life total down after turn ten.
