Deck overview

This deck is a high-power Rakdos burn and artifact combo deck built around Smaug the Impenetrable. Smaug provides an indestructible, hasty 8/7 flying body that converts any noncombat damage dealt to him into an equal number of Treasure tokens. The deck turns symmetrical damage spells like Blasphemous Act, Chain Reaction, and Pyrohemia into asymmetric resource explosions, wiping opposing boards while generating 8 to 16 Treasures at once. These massive mana reserves immediately fuel game-ending finishers like Torment of Hailfire, Exsanguinate, or aristocratic drain engines with Mirkwood Bats and Marionette Apprentice. The deck also features a compact infinite combo: equipping Smaug with Blazing Sunsteel allows infinite self-inflicted damage loops, creating infinite Treasures and triggering lethal burn across the table. Supported by red redirection spells and split-second protection, the deck reliably establishes onset on Turn 5 and closes on Turn 6.
